Some of you may be wondering what’s going on with the banner up at the top. If you’re the type to spend any time on any social networking platform whatsoever, you may have heard of the Protect IP Act that’s Congress is supposed to hearing about today. If it passes, this bill could seriously cripple the way the internet works by allowing censorship of anyone who links to any copyrighted content, and if I am not mistaken, even people who do something as simple as singing a copyrighted song and posting it on Youtube. This could hold websites like Youtube, Tumblr, Facebook and anything else you can think of liable for their users and bring these websites down because of a single link.
This means a lot to me, and if any of you have ever spent more than 5 minutes on the internet, it should mean a lot to you too. Please, go to this website and do what you can to help stop this bill from getting passed:Â http://americancensorship.org/. It also explains the contents of the bill in more detail.
